Why Split a PDF?

Splitting a large PDF into smaller files or extracting specific pages is a common requirement for managing documents efficiently. This tool is perfect for:

  • Extracting Chapters: Pull out a single chapter from a book or a specific section from a long report.
  • Separating Invoices: If you have a single PDF with multiple invoices, you can split each one into its own file.
  • Reducing File Size for Email: Extract only the necessary pages to send, reducing the attachment size.
  • Submitting Applications: Often, application forms or reports only require specific pages. Use this tool to extract just what you need.

Understanding Page Ranges

Our tool uses a flexible format for selecting pages:

  • Single Pages: Use commas to separate individual page numbers (e.g., 1, 5, 9).
  • Ranges: Use a hyphen to select a continuous range of pages (e.g., 2-6).
  • The "end" Keyword: Use the word "end" to refer to the last page of the document (e.g., 10-end).
  • Combinations: You can combine these formats (e.g., 1, 3-5, 8-end).

If you leave the input field blank, the tool will split every single page of the PDF into its own separate file.
